**__Preface__**

The preface provided a very descriptive overview of the purpose of the analysis of algorithms, and their overall application into many different fields. Algorithmic ideas are not solely constricted to the field of computer science, but reach into almost all fields across the market. However, the main root of algorithms does stem from the "heart of computer science". Algorithms consist of two main components: the mathematical component of the problem, and the design technique of the problem. Putting these two components together helps users to formally understand the questions behind problems as well as provide the solution. The main goal of this book is to look at the problems for which we can analyze and design algorithms, and to furthermore look into how and why these problems/solutions come about. The overall goal to be reached upon completion of this book is to be able to look at complex problems and be able to identify smooth, clean algorithms to define a solution. This preface was very informative and descriptive, and provided very good insight into what the following chapters would discuss.
